Dubai Hotel

Interior lighting describes place and mood in FORMstudio’s scheme for this new hotel in Dubai. In both public and guest areas, a combination of directional and diffused lighting filter through fretwork screens to cast arabesque shadows, to emulate the desert sky at night or to create intimate spaces for quiet repose within this large hotel.

The hotel includes five restaurants, a nightclub, spa, business centre, conference suite and club lounge together with 411 bedrooms. It is planned as the first of a new deluxe brand for the client that is intended to have universal appeal, adapting readily to different markets around the world, with a design concept that marries a consistent benchmark standard of international specification with individual contemporary interpretations of local regional and cultural references to create hotels with a distinct sense of place.
