The relationship between work and home life has rapidly changed with an increasing number of people requiring the flexibility to work not just from home but anyway. The demand has resulted in new challenges for architects and designers to provide innovative solutions to create multifunctional spaces to suit a variety of needs. The new book by Anna Yudina gives an insight into the number of different solutions by designers to integrate the workspace into the domestic home.

Our Artillery Mansions project features within the ‘Integrated/Detached’ section. The open plan arrangement contains a central ‘floating’ block that houses a home office. Flexibility is provided by concealed doors on electromagnetic holds that can be used to separate the work and living areas when required.  A different solution is provided in our Bermondsey Warehouse Loft which features a full-width desk and shelf with concealed cable trays and storage space. The design is wide enough to lay out photographic prints and climber's chalk bags are hung from a rail, repurposed to store camera lenses to suit the user's needs. The project can be found in the ‘Horizontal/Vertical section of the book.

'Home Work' is now available to purchase from Amazon and from good bookshops.
