Alaska Works Two

Our most recent fit out design for the 1932 Alaska building which operated as a fur tanning factory until being reinvented as of one of London’s first New York style loft apartment developments, by architects CZWG in 1989.

Rustic and refined…

Our design was centred around introducing a new mezzanine floor within the loft pitch to increase the area in the main floor. This allowed for a new open plan kitchen and living area that benefits from natural sunlight throughout.

A refined, monochrome palette of materials that defines new interventions against the grain of the existing materials. This contrast of warm and cold colours and materials lifts the space and highlights the benefits of both traditional and modern design features.

The existing roof was insulated to improved the thermal performance of the building whilst still maintaining its existing appeal of exposed timber finish internally.
